The 48 Group is delighted to share Echoes of the Silk Wind, a special concert celebrating the rich cultural connections between China and Europe through music, as part of the Silk Road Music Festival presented by World Heart Beat.
Curated by acclaimed Chinese pianist Siqian Li, joined by guzheng virtuoso and baritone Kang Yang, the concert takes audiences on a fascinating musical journey along the historic Silk Road, from China through the Caucasus and Anatolia to Andalusia.
The programme brings together musical traditions from East and West, featuring works inspired by Chinese landscapes, poetry and folk traditions, alongside compositions by Fazil Say, Albéniz, Babajanian and Chu Wanghua. Through these diverse musical expressions, the performance explores how centuries of cultural exchange have shaped artistic traditions across continents.
At The 48 Group, we believe that cultural exchange is an essential bridge for strengthening understanding and friendship between the UK and China. This concert beautifully reflects that spirit, demonstrating how music can transcend borders and bring people together.
We warmly encourage our members, partners and friends to join this inspiring evening celebrating music, heritage and cross-cultural connections.
