During the “Artificial Intelligence Theme Day” of the Zhongguancun Forum 2026, officials from Beijing’s Haidian District held discussions with Jack Perry, Chairman of the 48 Group and Executive Chairman of LEC Robotics, on advancing practical cooperation and mutually beneficial development.
Haidian District officials highlighted the area’s strong concentration of education, technology, and talent resources, and its commitment to positioning artificial intelligence at the core of its modern industrial system. Through initiatives such as the Beijing-Zhangjiakou AI Innovation Corridor and the development of integrated ecosystems for computing power, data, talent, and application scenarios, Haidian continues to accelerate its ambition to become a world-leading centre for artificial intelligence.
Both sides recognised the importance of international collaboration in response to the rapid evolution of next-generation AI technologies. Building on an established foundation of cooperation, discussions focused on expanding engagement in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and embodied intelligence, while strengthening platforms for more targeted and effective collaboration.
Jack Perry noted that the 48 Group has long supported UK–China cooperation through its extensive business networks and industry engagement. He expressed the Group’s willingness to further leverage these strengths to support the development and implementation of high-quality projects, contributing to deeper bilateral cooperation and the continued advancement of UK–China relations.
