The 48 Group welcomes foreign secretary Yvette Cooper MP’s visit to China this week, strengthening UK-China relations.

Following the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s state visit to China earlier in the year, the 48 Group is encouraged to see a further step in strengthening constructive working relations between the UK and China. The 48 Group recognises the importance in building functional relations between the UK and China, with plentiful mutual economic benefits available through trade.

While bilateral trade continues to grow, confidence in UK-China relations is reflected in the increase of business leaders and policymakers' delegations between the UK and China. At The 48 Group, we are dedicated to helping British businesses to lead the way in the evolving digital economy through providing UK businesses access into the Chinese market, and facilitate growth for UK in sectors such as AI, robotics, life sciences and tech.

Due to growing international instability and the resulting economic turmoil, The 48 Group has acted and will continue to act as a platform to facilitate relations between Chinese and British businesses for the benefits of the UK businesses.

The 48 Group believes that the UK’s growth agenda can best be facilitated through economic partnerships and collaborations, and China's vast single market and welcoming attitude towards UK businesses present a strong opportunity of economic partnership for the UK.
