On 7th June 2025, 48 Group Chairman Jack Perry officially opened and attended the Global Technology and Innovation Summit (GTAIS), held in partnership with The 48 Group at the House of Lords.
GTAIS, an initiative led by Uniques – a leading UK science and innovation platform – aims to foster global collaboration in science, technology, and entrepreneurship. By facilitating the international exchange of high-level talent and promoting both government and civil cooperation, GTAIS drives forward cross-border dialogue through impactful flagship events.
The summit brought together leading Chinese student organisations across the UK, including UKCSSA, the G5 university CSSAs, the Oxford and Cambridge Educational Associations, the Oxford China Forum, the LSE SU China Forum, and special partner the Harvard China Forum. Set against the historic backdrop of the House of Lords Banquet Hall, the event combined professionalism and policy dialogue with business networking and cultural exchange.
Jack Perry opened the summit with an inspiring address on the legacy and evolution of The 48 Group. He shared its founding mission, its enduring commitment to fostering UK - China understanding, and its renewed focus on technology and action. In a powerful message to the next generation of innovators, he urged the audience to embrace failure as a path to success and to take bold steps towards making meaningful impact.
As The 48 Group continues to champion trusted dialogue and meaningful collaboration between the UK and China, events like GTAIS are a testament to the power of partnership, the importance of youth engagement, and the shared drive for global progress.
